Rank

This system is not yet implemented, and won't go live until the game launches!

Each player will have a "rank" based on all three of his standings. The rank adds to your name - not everywhere in the game, but on the Empire Page for each game, and the overall Profile Page. So, for instance, Fnord's Empire page would show him as Sector Commander Fnord.

Ranks, once earned, are never lost!

The exact system by which promotions past Senior Commander are granted is a Class Seven secret of the Acutron. It takes into account all three standings: Average, Master Points, and Experience Points. A player with even one high standing will earn promotion to a certain level. It takes good scores in all three standings to earn the highest ranks!

Rank of the "real" player does not show if he’s playing a secret alias. A secret alias does not accumulate rank, but just shows as Commander. <--> The ranks are:

  1. Trainee - A nonsubscriber has this rank.
  2. Commander - This rank is automatically granted to subscribers.
  3. Senior Commander - This rank is granted for earning 5 or more MP in a mega-game, and may be earned at the end of the player's first mega-game, or any later mega-game. Promotion to higher ranks is possible at the end of any mega-game.
  4. System Commander
  5. Sector Commander
  6. Vice Commodore
  7. Commodore
  8. Rear Admiral
  9. Vice Admiral
  10. Admiral
  11. Fleet Admiral
  12. Grand Admiral - this is the highest rank.
