April 29, 2021: Orn Ree The Victorious!

In every mega game there is a victor. Today we honor Orn Ree for participating and winning Ultracoin. Orn Ree has now won seven mega games of which four while commanding the Orn race. Congratulations Orn Ree! Thank you commanders for your mega game participation. Commanders are encouraged to send a personal congratulating message through ultramail to Orn Ree.

New Mega Game about to start: Good hygiene required whether you have paws, claws, tentacles, hands or mechanical appendage. During the last conflict we understood that "King Kruel reigns with an iron-fist in a not very velvety glove". Did the sludge originate from an unsanitary glove? We call on all races and all commanders to check your neighbors paws, claws, tentacles, hands or mechanical appendages for good hygiene. Ensure that all neighbors are sludge free. If your neighbor is suspected of wielding sludge, sanitize all worlds and destroy all existence of the suspected sludge wielding neighbors. We know that the sludge infestation has made the population and ultranium twice as heavy to carry. Make use of the newly modified HC-4 Runway to carry more faster with a carry capacity of 800 and top speed of 70. The game is open now for you to join. Joining will close on May 5th at 8 pm. Shortly afterward we will populate the galactic planet map and assign starting positions to "Clean Commanders." Nobody planets will build on turn 24. The first tick will be on May 7th at 8 pm central daylight.

April 26, 2021: Dr_Sci designated as a new Admin!

Every eon or so the Acutron searches the hearts of commanders throughout the galaxy and deems it pleasing to itself to assign tasks to a new admin. Dr_Sci with a nod from Steve Jackson, a vetting by Kira Lightsphere, and a recommendation from Starcharger has become our first new admin since 13 game winner Travail started reporting news in the Lobby.

Starcharger has been starting new mega games for several years this time around. His hope and dream is to stay actively involved, but let's face it - he is older than dirt!

Dr_Sci has accepted his appointment with enthusiasm and says he is pleased "to do what I can to lead the game into the future" as Ultracorps approaches it's 25 year anniversary and will soon host it's 100,000th player.

In this most recent version of the game, Dr_Sci has been active since 2006 and has played in over 57 Mega games and multiple holiday ring games. Dr_Sci is a Mega game winner who ranks highly in average, master points and experience points and is known for amassing very large fleets and sending them out to gain battle. Often #1 in firepower Dr_Sci is both competitive and well-grounded. Please welcome our new admin - Dr_Sci!

April 16, 2021: FnordCon3 Blitz Game Winners

Steve Jackson Games Fnordcon3 was held in virtual convention this past weekend. Ultracorps was asked to join in. We hosted two games.

In the Fast Blitz game Sunday morning Dr_Sci emerged as the big winner. Dr. Sci got a gold game winner's badge.

In the Furious Blitz game Sunday afternoon we had an amazing 3-way tie for 1st. Dr_Sci won again. Goljerp and Starcharger got their first and only wins of the day.

A new Mega game will open around the end of the month and will start in the first week of May.

April 10, 2021: Fnordcon3 Blitz Games April 11th

As part of SJGames’ virtual FnordCon3 event, we’re hosting two UltraCorps blitz games on Sunday April 11th. What is a blitz game? It’s a 19-turn Ultracorps Mega game held in one day. It’s fast-paced and challenging! Both newcomers and veterans can play.

Sign up to play Fast between 10:00am and 11:00am CDT Sunday April 11th. The map will be built after 11am, and you can login about 11:15am and make your starting moves.

Sign up to play Furious

The first tick will be at 3pm CDT.

Remaining ticks will be every 5 minutes for the first hour and every 10 minutes until the game ends at 1:30pm CDT. Furious will then be open for joining and will start at 3pm and run for three hours.

The player(s) with the most worlds at the end is/are the winner(s)!

Join Sunday between 10-11am for Fast and between 12:30 and 2:30pm for Furious!

Gerrygadget leads out of the gate with 40 points! Orn Ree and Dr_Sci are tied for 2nd and Takeshi and Zpo fill out the top 5.

For those looking for a 2nd Mega Game to start today - April Fool's Day!

FnordCon 3 is right around the corner. Ultracorps was well-received at Fnordcon 2.3 in the team blitz game. Team Winner badges were awarded in gold and non-winners still got a similar badge in losing color.

Check here Fnordcon 3 for general info and here gaming for the game schedule. On Sunday April 11th, Ultracorps will host players in both morning and afternoon sessions and will have badges for players. The winner of each game gets an actual, not virtual, prize. Win both games, get both prizes.
