Infinita, Turns 13 and 14!

Getting Kroyded At Kroyden!

Almost slipping under the radar, Captain "Robinson" Caruso employed subterfuge and impeccable tactical planning to first deny Hair 10 the tasty planet, preserving it for his own capture a tick later. Rather than fighting it out with an inadequate force, detailed analysis of the battle records 1 cycle ago will show a 5th column of Caruso's forces designated as Caruso Aid Train sneak into the defense force and repel Hair10's troops in the initial attack. The shock of the intelligence failure has had ripple effects throughout the sector, and now Hair is in disarray. (Editor's note: *headdesk*)

Tearilis Grabs A Boobee??!

Dread Arachnon Lord Tearilis managed the first HW capture for Infinita last cycle, in an all-out attack on beleaguered and besieged Blokhead at Boo Bee. (Editor's note: Alliterative and accurate. Adequate.) He completed the conquest of that sector this cycle, leaving the unfortunate Commander Blokhead, handicapped by a late start, the first victim of his reign of terror. Who knows where it will end? (Editor's note. The Shadow knows, of course. Ahem.)

LBonser Left Barren and Bereft...of Barren!

General Habig completed several captures over the past cycles, brazenly attacking two different enemies. Barren fell to his superior forces this cycle. This reporter asked him about the conquest, and he replied: "Barren? I barely even marched in!".

June 25, 2020: First to 10 planets in Infinita

The price of the Infinita moved. Panic buying causes banks to close, at which point the Guir Ultranium Tactical (G.U.T.) sent in V2 bikes to quickly open them back up.

Who was the first to 10 planets? The Commanders name is [REDACTED] and we all know what troubles that means. Don't tell, best to Zip up. Way over in the middle of the map we have a 10 planet empire and a one planet utility easement. 10 plus 1 equals ?

Don't worry about {REDACTED}, he has no ships. 9 game winner Travail seems to be starting to like that 2nd place spot.

8 more players round out the Top Ten.
Angry Emu, Caruso, Goljerp, OaktownDog, Sandsorb, Tearilis, Trebor, Zen The rest of the players wallow in obscurity.

Flatline got a badge he won in the dog days of late July in the year 2008. He won for Winning Avatar Entries in a Creative Contest. Click on his standings in XP and scroll down a dozen cold black outer-space years. Keep scrolling to see how he went 7,6,5,4 to finish a solo in mythic time. Scroll even farther to see Flatline finish a solo in 12 turns.

June 22, 2020: Tearilis Goes 5-0

Infinita News: Tearilis takes 5 planets in two turns for the lead. This is Tearilis' first Mega Game ever, so go easy on the new guy. He's only played in one solo game, and finished with a respectable 7 turns.

Breakers, Goljerp, Hair10, Travail and Trebor are tied for 2nd place. That puts 15 players with four planets all in a pack sharing 7th place. 13 more commanders are tied for 23rd and hold three planets. Three players are plus one, and four players are plus none. I wonder what the plus none strategy is? Absorb planets by osmosis? Blackhole seeking more gravity pull?

Tearilis' Stat Line: Rated 100, with a projected MP of 10, a perfect 5-0 battle line while leading in worlds, firepower, Victories and Win Ratio. Rumor is that Tearilis led in population too with over 1400 pop. However his winning Arachnogenerals seem to think that victory in battle means you can eat the indigenous population of the conquered peoples, or at least the ones you can catch.

Statistics:

Rating: 100
Projected MP: 10
Worlds Owned: 6 (1st)
Firepower: 117.16 (1st)
Population: 1135 (10th)
Net Worth: 9007 (1st)
Victories: 5 Defeats: 0
Win Ratio: 5.00 (1st)

June 19, 2020: Giganto Team Wins The Day!

Team Commanders Arillus, Dentritch, Dr_Sci, Eurydice1607, Fearless mutt, Goljerp, Greyhulk, Hair10, MaxV, Neotris9, Solitar, Starcharger, Travail, Wadd, and Zen coordinated together to pull off the big win for the Giganto Team 206 over 110 for the Megabots.

The Megabot team fought well and truly and should and will be commended for their valiant efforts. Participation medals will be awarded for those who did not win. aka The Megabots

Many players suggested that the game was loads of fun, so look for another team game in the future. Thanks to Kira for setting up the team game! What Starcharger had when he asked Kira for help looked like premordial soup. It would not have happened without you Kira!

The Infinita Mega Game game is closed to new players. The first tick runs at 8a on the 20th! The extended game length will support fast brutal endgame fleets. Plan accordingly. We have some veteran players returning after many years away. Ignore them. They are peaceful now.

Come into the chat room before the tick if you like. See the Ultracorps Facebook page and post your alias. Post in the forums. Do anything but scheme against moi! Verba non acta ! Words not deeds!

Look for something fast and light as a theme: Tenete lucem!
Or maybe slow and heavy? Lenta gravisque!
Acta non verba!

June 11, 2020: Habig Hits 2500 XP Wow! Wow! Wow!

It took 72 Mega and Ring games to do it, but Habig has scaled the high peak of Ultracorps to hit the fabled 2,500 level! Simply amazing! Congratulations Habig!!!

Only Solitar, inducted as a founding member of the Ultracorps Hall of Fame has more XP at 2,624 in 83 Mega and Ring games. Starcharger, former XP leader and solitary holder of the extremely rare and exquisite black and gold Acutron awards, rounds out the medal level with 2,362 in 70 games.

Rounding out the Top Eight in all time XP are: Gikiski 2275 in 72; Team game winner Farstar 2163 in 66 games; 4 Mega Game, 1 Team game and 3 Ring game winner Sentrion 2136 in 60; Team game winner HCobb 2105 in 66; 9 Mega game and 2 Team game winner and current member of the Ultracorps Admin team Travail with 2006 in 56. Welcome to the 2,000 club Travail!!! Only 8 players have accomplished that formidable and daunting feat!

Topping off the Top Ten are 2 Mega game winner Dr_Sci at 1920 in 55 games and Team game winner ShadowbaneX with 1828 in 52 games. It should be noted that every player in the top ten, active or not has logged in to their account within the last 50 days. Long dormant Sentrion woke up 10 days ago and a true living legend UC_Rommel stopped in a week ago. Does Ultracorps get in your blood? Or is it Ultranium poisoning?

The Team Game between the Giganto and Megabot Teams has been way too much fun to describe in this entry. Gigantos over the Megabots 191 over 125 at this writing.

I have been exchanging ultramails with original Game Designer Stan James, aka Sliver, who may pop in next week to take some of Mongrell's V2 220 speed bikes out for a spin in anticipation of the soon upcoming 25 year celebration. Name another online strategy battle game that's been around that long!

The Infinita Mega Game has quite a strong player base already and we have a week yet before players get locked out at the gates. You can be there, or you can be square. Your choice, who am I to judge?

June 1, 2020: New Mega Game Infinita Starts June 20, 2020

The Infinita fell into a time crevice and the ancient ones activated a new gear! He busted through the space-time fabric going 140 speed. Easier to build, less expensive to produce, stronger and faster - will this spin the universe out of control? The game is open now and closes to new players on the 18th with a first tick scheduled for June 20, at 8am.

The Gigantos Team leads the Megabots Team 162 to 130 at the halfway mark. The Gigantos refuse to give up though and continue to state publicly that they do not intend to surrender any time soon.

How are we liking the two games a month schedule? It may slow down to just one game in June, unless the players say they like more games and not less. Chime in with your thoughts on game frequency, theme games, unit mods and more.
